INSPIRELI World Architecture University Ranking
The INSPIRELI World Architecture University Ranking reflects the activity and international competition success of architecture and design students representing universities around the world.
The ranking is based on verified results achieved by students in the INSPIRELI AWARDS and in selected INSPIRELI thematic competitions. It does not evaluate universities through reputation surveys, institutional budgets, research output or faculty size. It measures one specific dimension of architectural education: how actively students participate in international competition and how successfully their projects perform in expert evaluation.
Participation in the INSPIRELI AWARDS is free of charge and students may submit their school projects regardless of topic, university size or geographic location. Projects are evaluated by an international professional jury through a multi-stage voting process.
METHODOLOGY UPDATE – 11th EDITION / 2026
Beginning with the 11th edition, the scoring methodology was revised. All points achieved during the first ten editions remain unchanged. No historical results are deleted or retrospectively recalculated. New points earned from Edition 11 onward are added to each university's existing historical score.
Methodology development
The INSPIRELI World Architecture University Ranking is a cumulative ranking. Results and points achieved during the first ten editions remain permanently part of the ranking and are not recalculated or deleted.
From the 11th edition onward, the scoring system places greater emphasis on demonstrated project quality, jury recognition and exceptional international success. Points achieved under the revised methodology are added to the historical points accumulated by each university during the previous ten editions.

The Annual Ranking identifies the strongest-performing universities in a particular edition. The Overall Ranking reflects long-term cumulative student competition performance across the full history of the INSPIRELI World Architecture University Ranking.
The INSPIRELI World Architecture University Ranking should therefore be understood as a ranking of student activity and international competition performance, not as a general ranking of all aspects of university quality.
What the ranking is designed to reward
- quality recognised by an international professional jury;
